The small blue four-wheeler-calling service named TaxiDD can be accessed via LINE where local and tourist passengers can check distance and fare from the system directly to enjoy a modern, convenient and secure form of transport around Hua Hin.
On February 22, 2022, Mr. Kitiphong Siriphetkasem, Director of Hua Hin Motor Co., Ltd., said that after the COVID-19 situation, tour businesses have been economically affected for two full years, including taxi drivers, small four-wheel drivers, Tuk-Tuk drivers, van drivers, etc. In the middle of last year, an idea to improve the small four-wheel vehicle service in the Hua Hin area started. In addition to parking at various stops in Hua Hin Municipality and waiting for customers or tourists to hail the service alone, the online vehicle-hailing system was created to be a new alternative for passengers to offer a convenient and safe way to get around the town as the vehicles included on the system are SHA and SHA Plus standards certified by Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Public Health Office and Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Starting from February 22, 2022, 30 blue four-wheelers are ready to provide the service from the morning until 11 pm, with fare starting from 60 baht. Passengers scan QR CODE via LINE Application and set pick-up and delivery points. They can contact the driver directly via the phone number when there is a problem during the pick-up or delivery. In addition, the service vehicle is equipped with alcohol gel, and the drivers on TaxiDD must have been vaccinated with 3 shots.
People who live in or visit Hua Hin commute to places by using motorcycle taxis, small trucks, Tuk-Tuks, blue four-wheelers, and personal cars. Motorcycle taxis and Tuk-Tuks are the most popular picks enjoyed by tourists, with fares starting from 20 and 30 baht, respectively, subject to distance. Meanwhile, small trucks charge 10-20 baht per person, depending on the morning or late evening period.
