Rare and exotic as it may sound, Pizza Garden’s Osso Buco is an Italian home recipe made from a delicate selection of meat and ingredients.  After one bite, you will scream for more.

Osso Buco is a specialty of Lombard cuisine, from the Northern part of Italy, of cross-cut veal shanks braised vegetables, red wine, and broth. As known as ‘hole of bone’ for its direct translation from the name, the marrow in the hole in the bone, a prized delicacy, is the defining feature of the dish as it provides a rich flavor to the sauce, making the meat and broth part decadent and juicy. The moist herbal yellow rice acting as the bed for the meat is cooked with Italian rice and an Iran herb to enhance flavors and aroma.

Served with a large portion that can suit 1-2 people, the dish goes perfectly well with a glass of red wine to enhance the more subtle tastes of every ingredient added to it. Of course, the dish is advised to be finished at the restaurant; however, for those who buy this menu back home or have a leftover for later, there are a few concerns you should keep in mind as you are dealing with a delicacy.

  1. Separate your Osso Buco’s meat and rice to be kept in zipper bags or airtight containers in the fridge.
  2. To eat, reheat the shanks and rice in an oven at 325 degrees Fahrenheit or 162 degrees Celsius for 30 to 45 minutes. Do not reheat them with a microwave as they will become too dry.

Well-known for its authentic Italian pizza made from the firewood oven, Pizza Garden offers other rare dishes from Italy like Osso Buco and a large selection of premium wine. The vintage-styled restaurant is located inside Soi. Hua Hin 94 at the intersection Soi. Charoen Pattana 2.
