The Election Commission agrees to raise the electricity bill by 40 satang per unit from September to December.

Date:

“The FT estimate for the period from May to August 2022 has increased by 129.91 satang per unit, but the ERC considers this a principle of a three-step increase. As for the new period, the figures of the preliminary calculation have not changed. Therefore, an increase of about 40 satang per unit is expected,” Komkrit said.

The Thai Energy Regulatory Commission predicts that the cost of electricity will rise by 40 satang per unit from September to December.

According to Mr. Komkrit Tantravanich, Secretary General and Spokesperson of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), the trend of variable electricity prices (FT) for electricity bills for the period September-December 2022 is not yet taken into account because it must wait for the calculation cycle to close before beginning to calculate in mid-June. It will be revealed in mid-July. The initial cost, however, has continued to rise, and the office anticipates a new round of electric bills.

“The FT estimate for the period May to August 2022 has risen by 129.91 satang per unit, but the ERC considers this a three-step increase. The preliminary calculation figures have not changed for the new period. As a result, an increase of approximately 40 satang per unit is expected “Komkrit explained.
