Aunt and her husband were arrested for planting one marijuana plant in order to gain merit and temporary parole from Chonburi Provincial Court

On June 1, 2022, Chu Prakobphol, a 55-year-old farmer, was arrested for cultivating marijuana in the village of Huai Kru Temple in the Si Racha District of Chonburi Province. His wife, Pornpimon, 56, was also charged with the same offense but the prosecutor did not order the case to proceed.

The court ordered the couple to spend one night in prison to prevent them from experiencing any kind of misfortune. After being freed, Chu Prakobphol went to the temple to offer offerings to the monks. His wife, on the other hand, was forced to stay in prison for the first time in her life.
