SorChon Chonburi partners with Pattaya Port Authority to inspect two boats that collided in Pattaya Bay

Date:

Captain Nattawut Ngamwongwan, deputy director of Sorn Chon, Chon Buri province ordered to inspect the case from Pattaya port. We were informed by the owner of the Vinfrace Parasailing that he had been hit by the anchor Le Thong Optimus Prime (sand sucking boat) and that it had collided and damaged the Vinfrace Parasailing. The Royal Thai Police inspected the vessel and found a collision in the left bow and stains on the stern.

Pattaya port authorities took photos of the area where the boats collided. And after recording the testimony of the two crew members, it appears that the Thong Optimus Prime was anchored on June 21, from 00:30 to 01:00. Indeed, the Pattaya Port Authority filed an allegation against the supervisor of the Le Thong Optimus Prime for: 1. no ship’s crew license (under Section 285) 2. no documentation of the vessel 3. The boat is parked in the no mooring zone. The owner must also pay the fine to the Pattaya Pier Branch Office on June 23, 65, with the boat Le Thong Optimus Prime to compensate for the damage to the boat Vinfrace Parasailing.

According to an examination of the Le Thong Optimus Prime, it was found that it was a Singaporean boat. The owner is Singaporean. Two years ago, he went to Thailand to work in sand extraction. It arrived on Jomtien Beach, Pattaya, by the China Ming Hua Company, which is a successor company to the Italthai Company, which is an employer (the Italthai Company is a contract with the Department of the Navy). The China Ming Hua Company paid tens of millions of baht in advance to the owners of the Le Thong Optimus Prime. Later, there was a dispute over the debt and the matter is being litigated in court.

At present, there is still no compromise to clear the debt and a few months ago, China Minghua Company brought another boat from China to vacuum sand instead and sent a man to control the Le Thong Optimus Prime, claiming that the owner of the Le Thong Optimus Prime, a Singaporean, was in debt, and the owner of the boat in Singapore had been bankrupt. He owns 3 sand vacuum boats, 2 were sold at auction (in Singapore), the remaining 1 is Le Thong Optimus Prime, wants to sell at auction as well, trying to change the nationality to Thai boats and sold in Thailand but unable to execute because of Pattaya port.

On June 10, 2022, the owner of Le Thong Optimus Prime gave Mr. Jack the mandate of the Singaporean shipowner to report a complaint to the Pattaya police station that “according to the charge it is a freedom-related offense” and today the authority of the owner of the boat (Mr. Jack) brought the media and crew to Le Thong Optimus Prime to take over the boat by relying on the port officers. It was suggested that the group be authorized by the boat owner (Mr. Jack) and the crew, who brought the two speedboats to the boat to take over the boat, to bring the police officers who were informed of the incident to lead the boat instead of giving the Royal Thai Navy or port officers lead on board until about 17:30. The two speedboats of the group, authorized by the owner of the boat (Mr. Jack), brought the boat back to shore.
