Flood vicitims visited by PM in Ubon Ratchathani

Date:

Associated organizations are exerting significant effort to reduce the impact of floods in the province of Ubon Ratchathani. Prime Minister  Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, who is also the Minister of Defence, paid a visit to the province today in order to stress the need of providing quick compensation to those who have been impacted.

The Prime Minister was given an update on the most recent flooding situation in the northeastern region and voiced his support for all of the units that are working to alleviate the suffering of the local population. General Prayut stated that he planned to meet with those impacted by the situation in order to seek their feedback on the problems that require resolution.

He went to the evacuation shelters and found the residents at the Wat Warinthraram Community in the region of Warin Chamrap. Gen Prayut also participated in a video chat with other villages that have been impacted to convey the message that the government intends to be by their side throughout these challenging times.

According to the Prime Minister, the present flooding is the result of an excessive amount of rain that is greater than what the local reservoirs are able to contain.

He assuaged the fears of the citizens living in the area by assuring them that efforts are being made to address the situation, including plans for flood drainage and post-flood rehabilitation.
