Oman’s SalamAir now flies directly between Muscat and Bangkok three times a week, making Bangkok the airline’s second Thai destination after Phuket.
The airline reports that there are outbound flights from Muscat to Bangkok on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Fridays, and that there are inbound flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
SalamAir’s new Muscat-Bangkok route will help the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) achieve its goal of expanding the Oman market in Thailand, according to Chaiwat Tamthai, Director of the TAT’s Dubai Office. In addition to the current Muscat–Phuket flights, this new service will give visitors from Oman more seat capacity and routing alternatives while visiting the Kingdom of Thailand.
In December 2019, SalamAir first began flying between Muscat and Phuket.
Since the 2019–2020 off-season, the TAT has collaborated closely with the airline to advertise Thailand as a top travel destination for Oman. The TAT and SalamAir worked together to bring UAE travel agents to Phuket for a familiarization trip in January 2020, and they also operated a collaborative sales drive from November 1, 2022, to December 15, 2022, to promote Thailand in the countries that make up the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Founded in 2016, SalamAir is a low-cost airline that takes off and lands in Muscat, Oman, and travels to over 30 different locations worldwide. It operates a fleet of Airbus A320neo and A321neo planes, respectively, with 180 and 212 seats.
