To celebrate the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, Thailand and India have decided to launch a cultural exchange program. Both countries have committed to boosting their mutually beneficial economic, investment, and tourist ties.
At a signing ceremony held at the Ratchadamnoen Contemporary Art Center in Bangkok and presided over by the country’s Minister of Culture Itthiphol Kunplome, the pact was formally ratified.
The Minister of Culture of Thailand, Itthiphol, has revealed that in 2007, the Indian Ministry of Culture initiated a cultural exchange initiative with the Thai government. This year, the two ministries agreed to formally adopt a cultural exchange program as a means to promote collaboration.
Activities in the program will include musical and dance collaborations and anthropological discussions. Furthermore, in 2022 and 2027, festivities will be staged to mark the 75th and 80th anniversaries of diplomatic relations. The goal is to increase cultural exchange between the two countries so that business, investment, and tourism may flourish.
The art museum is hosting a free, public exhibition on Thai-Indian connections through January 11.
