Cybersecurity officials will strengthen safeguards for government-run websites, which have recently become targets of digital attacks.
Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, who presided over a meeting of the National Cyber Security Agency, welcomed operational rules for website security provided by the National Computer Emergency Response Team (National CERT). These standards will be used as a reference for government website developers.
In response to recent assaults and illegal connections that divert users to online gambling websites, the conference established a guideline on cybersecurity upgrade for state-run websites.
The conference also accepted a report on 30 cyber attacks that happened during the APEC Leaders’ Week, as well as 551 events that occurred during the fiscal year 2022.
On this occasion, Gen Prawit requested that the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society expedite the approved 2022-2027 action plan to strengthen the security of government websites while enhancing public awareness of cyber dangers.
