Next month, TAT will have a roadshow in China

Date:

The Tourist Authority of Thailand (TAT) plans to hold a roadshow in China during the third week of February in an effort to tap into the Chinese tourism sector and develop tour packages for foreign independent travelers (FITs) and tour groups.

According to TAT, the roadshow will take place in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Chengdu, and around 120 Chinese and Thai businesspeople will attend.

In addition to the roadshow, Chinese online travel agency Ctrip will undertake a social media-based online marketing campaign to promote its Thailand holiday packages.

TAT anticipates that around 300,000 Chinese tourists will visit Thailand in the first quarter of 2023, with the number rising in the second quarter.

Following the restart of flights between Thailand and China on January 18, TAT offices in China and local tourism operators are also preparing for the return of Chinese visitors.

Thailand’s tourism industries are making preparations for the return of Chinese visitors, with ferry operators in Koh Samui cleaning their vessels and providing hand sanitizers for passengers.
