NHSO Gold Cardholders can get free breast cancer examinations

Date:

The National Health Security Office (NHSO) has stated that under the universal healthcare scheme, women would be able to receive free breast cancer screening. If the cardholder is diagnosed with breast cancer, examinations will be made available to immediate family members.

On Saturday, the National Health Security Office (NHSO) approved screening for women universal card holders. Cardholders are now eligible for a free medical checkup to screen for mutant BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes, according to NHSO Deputy Secretary-General Athaporn Limpanyler.

If the patient is found to carry these genes, her immediate family members will be provided free screening under the universal healthcare program.

The deputy director further stated that cardholders can be examined at seven sites that have been certified to test for mutant BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes, with 69 units nationally equipped to collect samples. Officials will speak with cancer patients around the country, collect and distribute samples, and give services.

According to the deputy secretary-general, the NHSO is collaborating closely with local cancer treatment institutes to make service more accessible to consumers. He went on to say that these advantages might save lives by boosting the frequency of early interventions in cancer patients.
