On March 17th, 2023, at 10:10 a.m., authorities in Pattaya received a report of a fire at Soi Kho Phai, Moo 10, South Pattaya, Pattaya City, Chonburi Province. The fire rapidly spread, prompting a request for assistance from the fire department. In response, three Pattaya fire engines were dispatched to the scene. The city council president, Mr. Bunlue Kulwanich, was also informed of the incident and traveled to the site immediately. Upon arrival, a thick cloud of smoke was visible emanating from the antique store, which was found to contain a large amount of old fuel. Firefighters worked to control the blaze, but were only able to limit its spread to a confined area.

According to Mr. Pornchai Khun Em, a 26-year-old employee of the antique store, the fire was caused by sparks that flew while he was cutting steel to separate it into pieces. The sparks hit some nearby wires, and he attempted to extinguish the fire once. However, the flames quickly reignited and spread rapidly throughout the warehouse, engulfing all the antiques inside, including a six-wheeled vehicle that was parked there. As a result, significant damage was done to the premises.
