Cabinet acknowledges progress in promoting Thai soft power

Date:

The Government has commended the success made in boosting Thailand’s image through the use of “soft power” in the entertainment sector. Deputy Government Spokesperson Tipanan Sirichana delivered the announcement.

The government intends to foster economic growth through the entertainment industry by boosting the sale of Thai goods and services and inspiring businesses through tax breaks.

As part of this endeavor, the Cabinet has formed a committee to investigate and establish policies, plans, and strategies for bolstering and developing the nation’s soft power through industry.

Moreover, the committee will give tax breaks or financial incentives to encourage private enterprises in the manufacturing, service, and production sectors to promote Thai products and services.

The committee will submit various draft ideas to the Cabinet for approval.

In order to further improve Thailand’s economy and society, the government has also formed a special committee to promote soft power via cultural elements.

The strategy intends to establish a core axis of development and study, as well as memos to push the use of soft power and gather foreign insights into Thailand’s cultural and market trends for products and services.
