“Campaign to Reduce Accidents at Crossing Areas” launched in over 30 province-wide schools

Date:

Prachuap Khiri Khan Province launched a road safety campaign called “Campaign to Reduce Accidents at Crossing Areas” on March 21, 2023, in an effort to reduce accidents at pedestrian crossings. The campaign’s goal is to raise awareness of road safety among Thais and to start a trend. The campaign includes a crosswalk painting event in front of more than 30 schools throughout the province to reduce the risk of accidents in those areas.

The crosswalk painting event was planned to honor Dr. Rabbit, who died in a pedestrian crossing accident in Hua Hin municipality. Mr. Nopporn Wuthikul, the Mayor of Hua Hin, attended the event. The event took place at the Khao Pitak Municipal School, a school in a large community. The road in front of the school is a two-lane road with heavy traffic. The new crosswalk can be seen from a long distance away because it is painted in bright colors. This makes avoiding accidents easier.

The event was overseen by General Krit Phuangvalaisin, who oversees the Hua Hin district, and Mr. Kitti Fuangfu. Ms. Nonglak Phadungtos and Mr. Thongchai Petchsongkram, both members of the Municipal Council, as well as Mr. Jeerawat Prahmanee, Hua Hin Municipality’s Permanent Secretary, were also present.
