Thailand Achieves Landmark Milestone as Cooked Duck Meat Exports Soar to Australia

Date:

In a momentous triumph after seven years of intense negotiations, Thailand has commenced its exports of cooked duck meat products to Australia. Today marked the shipment of the inaugural 20 tons of this delectable offering from Thai shores to the land Down Under, heralding the beginning of a prosperous culinary partnership. It is anticipated that a staggering 1,200 tons of cooked duck meat will grace Australian plates within the first year alone.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, in conjunction with esteemed food product manufacturer Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), orchestrated a momentous celebration to commemorate this historic milestone. With the dispatch of this shipment, Thailand stands as the first nation in the world to export ready-to-eat duck products to the vast expanse of Australia.

Mr. Prayoon Inskul, the indefatigable Permanent Secretary of Agriculture and Cooperatives, revealed that arduous negotiations spanning back to 2016 have culminated in this momentous achievement. Through the exemplary partnership between the Thai government and private sector, Thailand has risen above its peers to obtain the prestigious privilege of exporting cooked duck meat to Australia.

The initial consignment, comprised of 20 tons of succulent cooked duck meat, marks only the beginning of what promises to be a lucrative endeavor. In the forthcoming calendar year, Thailand envisages exporting a staggering 1,200 tons of this culinary treasure to Australia, which is projected to generate an estimated revenue of 400 million baht.

Speaking at the auspicious occasion, CPF’s esteemed CEO, Prasit Boondoungprasert, emphasized that this significant shipment exemplifies the remarkable capabilities of Thai businesses in producing world-class agricultural goods. Australia, a nation brimming with untapped potential, boasts an escalating demand for ready-to-eat duck products, with an annual consumption figure of approximately 50,000 tons. Thus, the timing of this breakthrough could not be more opportune.

Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF), a stalwart in the global market, has already been exporting its esteemed duck products to various international destinations. Notably, Germany, England, the European Union, Japan, Singapore, and New Zealand have savored the flavors of CPF’s culinary expertise. Undeterred by the challenges inherent in expanding their culinary empire, CPF has now set its sights on conquering the Australian market, aiming to export an impressive 500-600 tons of diverse duck offerings. Grilled duck, shredded duck meat, and grilled duck with flour wrap are among the tantalizing delights that await Australian consumers.

As Thailand’s culinary prowess ventures across borders, this momentous occasion underscores the country’s unwavering commitment to excellence in the global market. With each succulent morsel of cooked duck meat, a symphony of flavors bridges the gap between nations, culminating in a feast for the senses that encapsulates the spirit of Thai cuisine.
