On June 15, 2023, Ms. Netnapha Ngamnet, the Head of Hat Wanakorn National Park in Thap Sakae District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, announced the organization of a scuba diving training course aimed at enhancing the skills and efficiency of marine national park officials. The training course, held from June 11 to 15, 2023, took place at Hat Wanakorn National Park in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
During the course, eight staff members from Hat Wanakorn National Park were designated as a marine operation team responsible for various tasks related to underwater activities. These responsibilities included the exploration of underwater resources, maintenance of boundary buoys and mooring buoys, retrieval of fishing gear and debris, life-saving and rescue operations, as well as the enforcement of regulations to combat illegal activities within the area of Hat Wanakorn National Park.
The scuba diving training course was divided into two levels: CMAS One Star Diver and CMAS Two Star Diver. Two individuals underwent training at the CMAS Two Star Diver level, which included skills such as search and recovery dives, night diving, advanced buoyancy control (Peak Performance Buoyancy), deep diving beyond 18 meters, underwater navigation, and rescue techniques to assist others. Meanwhile, six participants received training at the CMAS One Star Diver level, focusing on equipment usage, buoyancy control, regulator breathing, mask clearing, body balancing, underwater communication using hand gestures, and other essential skills. The aim of this training was to develop the expertise of these personnel and equip them with a broader range of diving capabilities for future endeavors.
By organizing this scuba diving training course, Hat Wanakorn National Park seeks to enhance the proficiency and competence of its marine national park officials. The acquired skills and knowledge will enable these individuals to effectively carry out their duties and responsibilities, ensuring the conservation and protection of the marine resources within Hat Wanakorn National Park.
