Hua Hin Joins Thai Red Cross Society to Grant Scholarships to Needy Students

On July 5, 2023, Mr. Phon Krit Phuangvalaisin, Hua Hin District Chief in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, led the opening ceremony of a social work project aimed at providing scholarships to underprivileged students in Hua Hin District for the year 2023. The event took place at Nong Plub Wittaya School and Naresuan Pala-U Police School, with the presence of Mrs. Usa Phuangvalaisin, President of the Hua Hin District Red Cross, along with committee members, the Red Cross King representatives, educational institution directors, teachers, village leaders, and distinguished guests. The distribution of scholarships to 509 students in Hua Hin District brought immense joy to the students and their parents.

Mrs. Usa Puangwalaisin explained that this project was a collaborative effort between Hua Hin District and the Red Cross King’s Office, serving as a noble initiative supported by King Vajiraklao Chao Yu Hua. Its purpose is to alleviate the financial burden on parents and support students in need, offering not only scholarships but also inspiration and encouragement for underprivileged students to pursue their dreams. This initiative is in line with the mission of the Thai Red Cross Society to provide assistance to parents and students. The scholarships are made possible through generous donations from individuals, as well as the proceeds from previous Red Cross events and other charitable activities in Hua Hin.

A total of 1,120 scholarships, each valued at 1,000 baht, have been granted. The first round of scholarships, totaling 413,000 baht, was awarded on June 22, 2023, at Hua Hin School to students from 17 schools.
