On July 16, 2023, Mr. Poramet Ngamphichet, Mayor of Pattaya City, presided over the opening ceremony of the 2023 Library Week project at the Pattaya Public Library in Chonburi Province. The event was attended by Mrs. Nittha Buntham, Head of the Library, Museum, and Education Network Department, along with distinguished guests.
The objective of the project is to inspire a love for reading by integrating various interesting activities that cater to the current trends and technology. The aim is to motivate participants to develop a greater interest in reading, which can be influenced by family, the surrounding environment, or their personal interests such as books, dramas, or movies. The successful implementation of the project is intended to cultivate a passion for reading among the participants.
The Department of Libraries, Museums, and Education Networks, under the Bureau of Education, is responsible for organizing educational service activities and promoting both formal and non-formal education through community learning resources such as public libraries.
The Library Week project features engaging reading development activities that showcase the history of renowned Thai writers, poets, and translators from the past and present. Additionally, it exhibits outstanding and valuable works collected by students from the Bang Lamung District Learning Promotion Center and local residents.
During the opening ceremony, Mr. Poramet Ngamphichet, along with distinguished guests and participating students, visited the exhibition titled “From Reading to Inspiration.” The exhibition showcased various activities, including an exhibition on the literary talents of His Majesty King Rama IX, the Department of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Language Arts Exhibition, and more.
