Hua Hin Takes Stride Towards Becoming a Smart City in Vibrant Discussion with Community Leaders

On July 19, 2023, a lively discussion on the concept of “Smart City” took place in Hua Hin. Leading the event was Mr. Kitti Fuengfu, the secretary of the mayor of Hua Hin, who is an expert on the topic.

The discussion brought together key figures, including Ms. Jiraporn Pongpaiboon, Smart City Ambassador of Hua Hin City, Mr. Patcharakorn Kulcharoen, Secretary to Mayor of Poochaosamingprai City, Ms. Jintita Saichan, Deputy Municipal Clerk of Pu Chao Saming Phrai Municipality, and Ms. Amonwan Chotsukphayak, Director of Social Welfare Division. Alongside them, 450 community leaders, organization groups, network partners, and residents of the municipality participated, all eager to explore the possibilities of creating a truly smart and livable city.

The discussion was part of the Community Potential Development Project in Pu Chao Saming Phrai Municipality for the fiscal year 2023, held from July 18 to July 20 in Phetchaburi Province and Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. The project aims to provide comprehensive training to participants, equipping them with essential community organization management skills to foster strong and sustainable communities.

The knowledge gained from this initiative will be harnessed to drive the development of their respective communities, with a focus on transforming Pu Chao Saming Phrai Municipality into a cutting-edge “Smart City.” The municipality’s remarkable progress in various aspects has already earned it recognition as a smart city promotion zone.
