In a resounding display of dedication to public service, the Lions Club of Hua Hin reaffirms its commitment to empowering communities and extending a helping hand to those in need. The club, known for its humanitarian activities and unwavering dedication, recently held an inauguration ceremony for its 2023-2024 Executive Committee, ushering in a new era of service.

On a noteworthy day at Verso Hua Hin Hotel, located in the picturesque Hua Hin District of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, the inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mr. Pongsak Ket Sawasdiwong, Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Council of the Lions Governors Region 310. Among the distinguished guests present were Mr. Surawee Nimwachirasunthorn, Governor of Lions Region 310 D, Mr. Phon Krit Phuangwalaisin, Hua Hin District Chief, and Ms. Usa Phuangwalaisin, President of Hua Hin Red Cross District. The presence of Pol. Col. Hongprom Wisit Chanachai, Superintendent of Police, Hua Hin, and the esteemed Hua Hin Lions Club Board of Directors and Members added a sense of prestige to the event.

During the ceremony, the club’s newly elected Executive Committee took center stage, bringing fresh perspectives and renewed enthusiasm to the organization. However, one familiar face remained at the helm, as Ms. Cherman Uthaiwannawong was unanimously re-elected as the “President of the Lions Club of Hua Hin” for another term. This unanimous decision from the honored guests is a testament to the trust and respect earned by Ms. Cherman for her exemplary leadership and dedication to the club’s core values.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Cherman highlighted the Lions Club of Hua Hin’s ideology to work collectively for public activities and extend aid to the less fortunate, without expecting personal compensation. The club acts as a vital coordinator, collaborating with various organizations and serving as a conduit for those in need.

In keeping with its mission, the club has undertaken several impactful projects in the past and remains committed to continuing these efforts in the future. Among their noteworthy initiatives are projects to assist individuals affected by natural disasters, scholarships for deserving children in Hua Hin schools, and monthly wheelchairs donations in collaboration with ISOC Prachuap Khiri Khan District, King Red Cross, and Hua Hin Municipality, all aimed at aiding the underprivileged.

Emphasizing their dedication to environmental conservation, the Lions Club of Hua Hin actively participates in tree-planting initiatives and the release of fish species into reservoirs to support aquatic biodiversity.

Furthermore, the club follows the core policy of the Lions Club International with the eyeglass donation project, which aims to provide sight to individuals of all ages who suffer from vision impairments. This initiative reflects the Lions Club’s overarching motto of “We Serve,” epitomizing their genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others without seeking personal gains.

As the Lions Club of Hua Hin embarks on another term with Ms. Cherman Uthaiwannawong leading the way, their dedication to community service and humanitarian efforts remains steadfast. With a sense of unity and selflessness, they continue to be a beacon of hope for those in need, embodying the spirit of giving and compassion at the heart of their organization.
