In a recent gathering, Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul, the Mayor of Hua Hin City, convened with the city’s executive team, the Vice President of the Municipal Council, municipal council members, municipal secretaries, and the heads of various government agencies. Also in attendance were members of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Provincial Administrative Organization Council and officials from relevant government agencies. The purpose of this assembly was to deliberate and strategize regarding the forthcoming “Traditional Long Boat Race Project, Year 2023,” an event organized by the Education Division of Hua Hin Municipality. This exciting competition is scheduled to take place on the 18th and 19th of November 2023 at Khao Tao Reservoir.
Collaborating with the renowned television station Thai PBS and the esteemed Thai Health Promotion Foundation, this historic long boat race is set to embark on its 16th year under the captivating theme, “Long Boat Battle for the King of the Water.” The event promises to be a spectacle of tradition and sportsmanship, featuring four distinct categories of boat races, all vying for the coveted royal trophy.
