In a bid to streamline travel arrangements and cater to the surge in demand during the upcoming Thai New Year, Songkran 2024, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has introduced an innovative 90-day advance booking service for CNR express trains on key routes. This service, set to commence this Friday (Jan 12), is geared towards facilitating smoother travel experiences for passengers embarking on the festive season journey.
The new offering encompasses eight return services on CNR express trains, strategically spanning the Northern, Northeastern, and Southern Lines. Two return services on the Northern Line will link the bustling city of Bangkok (Krung Thep Aphiwat) to the scenic Chiang Mai and vice versa. Meanwhile, the Northeastern Line will witness four return services between Bangkok and Ubon Ratchathanni, as well as between Bangkok and Nong Khai. On the Southern Line, two return trips connecting Bangkok and Hat Yai will be part of this enhanced booking service.
The initiative, aimed at addressing the heightened travel demand associated with holidays, is a timely measure by the SRT. As of January 12, 2024, passengers can secure their tickets for these services starting at 8:30 a.m. Through the user-friendly D-Ticket mobile app, the SRT website (www.dticket.railway.co.th), and ticket booths stationed at SRT locations nationwide, travelers can efficiently plan their journeys well in advance.
For the convenience of passengers opting for other train services, reservations will continue to be available up to 30 days before the scheduled departure. Should travelers require additional information or assistance, the SRT Call Center stands ready at 1690, providing 24/7 support.
