Hua Hin Muay Thai Competition Commemorates Thai Boxing Legends

In a ceremony attended by Hua Hin’s Mayor, Nopporn Wuttikul, a Muay Thai sporting event honored the legacy of Thai boxing champions, including Mana Sridokbuab, also known as “Phon Gingphet,” who claimed the world Flyweight title, bringing pride to Thailand.

Joined by officials from various organizations, including the National Police, the ceremony underscored the collaboration between the Hua Hin Municipality, Hua Hin Sports Association, and the Provincial Sports Authority of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province in organizing the event.

Addressing the attendees, Mayor Nopporn emphasized the significance of the event, highlighting Mana Sridokbuab’s historic achievement as the first Thai to secure the world boxing championship and recognizing the vital role of Muay Thai in the region. He expressed the municipality’s commitment to supporting local Muay Thai athletes in Hua Hin.

The competition featured nine bouts, with both Thai and international fighters showcasing their skills at Pho Khun Phetch Park.

The event symbolized a tribute to the rich heritage of Muay Thai and a commitment to nurturing future generations of Thai boxing talent in Hua Hin and beyond.
