Roi Et Hosts Successful Asian U19 Beach Volleyball Championships

On May 5, 2024, at Nong Ya Ma Municipal School in Mueang District, Roi Et Province, Mr. Chaiwat Chaiwetphisit, Deputy Governor of Roi Et Province, presided over the awards ceremony for the international beach volleyball competition, “EURO Cake” 5th Asian U19 Beach Volleyball Championships. Accompanying him was Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, and Mr. Banjong Kositjiranan, Mayor of Roi Et, along with other government officials and representatives from related agencies.

The hosting of the “EURO Cake” 5th Asian U19 Beach Volleyball Championships in Roi Et Province was in response to the Asian Volleyball Federation’s assignment. The tournament took place from May 1 to May 5, 2024. The Iranian national team emerged as the champions in the men’s category, with the Lebanon national team securing the first runner-up position, and the Thai national team clinching the second runner-up spot. In the women’s division, the Australian national team claimed the top spot, followed by the Thai national team as the first runner-up, and the Chinese national team as the second runner-up. Following the conclusion of the competition, a reception was organized for the athletes and coaches at M Grand Hotel in Mueang Roi Et District.

Expressing gratitude, the Deputy Governor highlighted Roi Et Province’s pride in hosting such a prestigious international sports event. He emphasized the significance of this opportunity for young athletes and enthusiasts to enhance their skills and gain valuable experience in beach volleyball, thereby contributing to the future development of the sport at the national level.
