The low-cost airline has expanded its operations to include flights from Singapore to six Southeast Asian destinations using its new fleet of Embraer E190-E2 planes. This addition aims to cater to the growing demand for affordable and convenient travel within the region.
Upon arrival, the inaugural flight was greeted by Mr. Kampanat Klinsowakon, the district chief of Koh Samui, Ms. Kanokittika Kritayutthikorn, the director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Koh Samui Office, and a tourism delegation. The welcoming ceremony took place at the airport parking lot, where 108 tourists and crew members disembarked to a warm reception.
The new flight route is expected to boost tourism in Koh Samui, providing easier access for international travelers and stimulating the local economy. By enhancing connectivity, Scoot aims to support the island’s tourism sector, which is a vital part of the region’s economic landscape.
Local officials and tourism leaders underscored the importance of this new connection, highlighting their commitment to promoting Koh Samui as a premier tourist destination. Their presence at the welcoming ceremony reflects a collective effort to foster stronger ties with international visitors and enhance the island’s appeal as a travel hub.
