On June 4, 2024, the Hua Hin-Cha-am Tourism Business Association held a meeting to prepare for the upcoming event “Walk and Run, Release the Crabs, Eat the Breeze, and See the Sea @ Khao Takiab 2024.” The event, aimed at promoting sports tourism and environmental conservation, is scheduled for September 7-8, 2024.
Mrs. Wasana Srikanchana, President of the Hua Hin-Cha-am Tourism Business Association, outlined the event’s objectives, emphasizing the promotion of sports tourism through walking and running along the seaside. Additionally, the event will feature the release of baby blue swimming crabs and other aquatic animals into the Hua Hin sea to help preserve natural resources and the environment, fostering future marine abundance. The association aims to attract 500 tourists, stimulating the local economy and generating income for the area.
The main event on September 7 will include a 5.7-kilometer walk-run starting from the Market Village Hua Hin shopping center, extending along Hua Hin Beach to Khao Takiab Beach Soi 1. Participants will take part in releasing baby crabs and various aquatic animals back into the sea. Those who wish to continue can run back to the Market Village Shopping Center, while a shuttle service will be available for those who prefer not to. The evening will conclude with a mini-concert by popular artist Jessester, offering participants a chance to win special prizes.
On September 8, participants will have the opportunity to explore Hua Hin at their leisure. The registration fee for the event is 399 baht, which includes a shirt, backpack, participation in the crab release activity, and entry to the concert. Registered tourists can also book a special one-night stay for two people at a price of 789 baht, which includes a 200-baht gift voucher redeemable at the Market Village Hua Hin Shopping Center. This offer is limited to 150 rooms.
The planning meeting saw attendance from several key figures, including Ms. Busaba Choksuchat, Deputy Mayor of Hua Hin City, Mr. Kitipong Siripetchakasem, Vice President of the Hua Hin-Cha-am Tourism Business Association, Mr. Achawan Kongkanan, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Prachuap Khiri Khan Office, and Mr. Amornthep Uammeephan, General Manager of Market Village Hua Hin Shopping Center. The gathering was held in the conference room on the 5th floor of the Hua Hin White Villa Hotel in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
