Koh Kradan Extends Opening Period, Suspends Water Activities

Date:

The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation has announced an extension of the opening period for Koh Kradan, a renowned beach island in Trang province, by an additional two months. Originally scheduled to be closed from June 1 to September 30 annually, the island will now remain open through July and August this year.

Visitors should note that snorkeling and water activities near the coral reefs in front of Koh Kradan are temporarily suspended. This measure is in place until the coral bleaching situation shows signs of improvement.

Koh Kradan recently received international acclaim when it was voted as having the world’s best beach by World Beach Guide magazine in the UK.

In related news, officials from the Department, along with local authorities, emphasized their commitment to preserving the island’s natural beauty while accommodating the influx of tourists during the extended period.
