A violent street fight erupted outside a hotel in Pattaya, stunning onlookers and igniting a swift police response. The confrontation, which was captured on video by bystanders, involved a tangled love triangle and led to the arrest of a 32-year-old Kuwaiti national on the evening of July 10.
The altercation began when bystanders, including 43-year-old chicken rice vendor Sompong Ruangkham, started recording the chaotic scene. Initially, witnesses thought it was a display of bravado by a prominent figure. However, it soon became clear that the fight was over a personal dispute.
Tourist police, upon reviewing CCTV footage, traced the suspect to a condominium in Pattaya. The suspect, identified as Khalilov, was taken into custody for questioning at Pattaya City Police Station.
The incident unfolded as Khalilov, driving a black Chevrolet Optra without a license plate, encountered 26-year-old Alazemi, his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, near the hotel. Khalilov revved his engine and honked before parking, leading to a heated exchange. Alazemi, attempting to pull the woman away, removed his shirt and challenged Khalilov to a fight.
Despite efforts by the woman and another man to defuse the situation, the confrontation escalated into violence. Khalilov delivered a powerful punch that knocked Alazemi to the ground while his friends surrounded the scene.
Alazemi subsequently filed a complaint at Pattaya City Police Station. Police officers escorted him to a hospital for treatment and scheduled his statement. Khalilov was arrested and charged with brawling. He remains in custody as the investigation continues, according to KhaoSod English.
In other news, a Thai police officer in Nakhon Pathom was accused of attacking his wife with a samurai sword on May 31 after she discovered his affairs.
