On August 2, 2024, the Hua Hin Food Festival for this year was officially opened at Queen’s Park (19 Rai). The event, aimed at promoting local tourism and boosting the economy during the low season, is expected to generate over 10 million Baht in revenue. The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Nopporn Wutthikul, Mayor of Hua Hin, who reported on the event’s objectives. Mr. Sinthorn Oaeiam, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khiri Khan, presided over the event, joined by local officials, community leaders, and a large number of residents and tourists.
The Hua Hin Municipality, in collaboration with the Hua Hin/Cha-am Tourism Business Association, the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Prachuap Khiri Khan office, and other local organizations, have continued to organize the Hua Hin Food Festival as an annual event. This year, the festival features a wide range of culinary activities designed to connect local food producers with new markets. One highlight includes the “Food and Community Art” zone, showcasing safe and sustainable food products from local farmers, OTOP (One Tambon One Product) entrepreneurs, and community-based tourism groups. Over 30 stalls offer a variety of ready-to-eat dishes, fresh produce, handmade goods, and more.
Before the official ceremony, guests enjoyed a special performance titled “Tosakan Flavors Hua Hin,” followed by the preparation of the “Railway Fried Rice,” the event’s signature dish, in celebration of the 113th anniversary of Hua Hin Railway Station. This dish was served to visitors free of charge, with 113 plates distributed to mark the occasion.
The Hua Hin Food Festival 2024 runs from August 2 to 4 at Queen’s Park (19 Rai) on the seaside. The event features local food zones, daily cooking demonstrations of traditional dishes, a seafood papaya salad contest, fruit and vegetable carving competitions, and workshops for bartenders. More than 100 booths from renowned hotels and local eateries offer a diverse selection of dishes at special prices, providing an opportunity for visitors to taste both local specialties and gourmet creations.
