The Hua Hin Music Contest 2024 concluded its final round on August 31, 2024, with a celebratory awards ceremony. Nopporn Wuttikul, the mayor of Hua Hin, presided over the event held at the Market Village Hua Hin, which also saw substantial attendance from local officials and community members.
The competition, named the Hua Hin Music Contest 2024, was organized by the Hua Hin Municipality in collaboration with Market Village Hua Hin. This initiative aimed to foster creativity and self-expression among young musicians while simultaneously promoting tourism in the city. The contest attracted nearly 200 teams from both secondary and tertiary education institutions across Thailand. Preliminary rounds were held on August 24-25, 2024, leading to the final showcase.
The finals featured 10 teams in each category: secondary school and higher education. Esteemed judges included renowned music producer Jakkravee Saothongyutham, popular singer Jirasak Panphum, and several other respected figures from Yamaha Music School. The performances were intense and showcased exceptional talent, making the judging process particularly challenging.
In the secondary school category, the top prize of 100,000 baht went to the team Only Funk. Whitebridge secured second place with a prize of 50,000 baht, while Mousou earned third place with 30,000 baht. Additional awards included the highest view count prize for Whitebridge, and various accolades for outstanding vocalists and musicians. Notable winners included AV7 for best vocalist and Arctic Kangaroos for best musician.
In the higher education category, Dachshund emerged as the winner, receiving 100,000 baht. The second-place award of 50,000 baht went to Isolate, and ANCOSBand took third place with 30,000 baht. ANCOSBand also won the highest view count prize. The best vocalist award went to The Rain, and The Miracal’s musicians won for their exceptional instrumental performances.
This event highlighted the vibrant music scene in Hua Hin and underscored the city’s commitment to nurturing young talent while enhancing its cultural appeal. The successful execution of the contest involved contributions from several local figures and officials, including Deputy Mayor Bussaba Choksuchart, Council Member Sanpaph Eungrasmee, and various representatives from Yamaha and Market Village Hua Hin.
