Tennis Stars Explore Muay Thai Ahead of Hua Hin Tournament

Chinese tennis player Wang Xiyu, ranked 64th in the world, participated in a Muay Thai training session at The Legend Arena, Bluport Hua Hin, ahead of her competition in the WTA 250 tournament “Allied Thailand Open 2024 Presented by Cal-Comp.” The main draw of the tournament is scheduled to take place from September 16 to 22, 2024, at Arena Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.

In a similar event, Nadia Podoroska, an Argentine tennis player ranked 71st globally, also embraced Muay Thai, known as “Thai Soft Power,” during her visit to The Legend Arena. The session provided both athletes a unique cultural experience before they prepare for the upcoming WTA 250 tournament, where top women tennis players from around the world will compete in the main draw.

It was reported that the “Allied Thailand Open 2024” serves as an important platform for international players to showcase their skills while immersing themselves in local Thai culture. The tournament will be held at Arena Hua Hin, with matches scheduled from September 16-22. Officials expressed their enthusiasm for the fusion of sports and culture in this event, highlighting the significance of Muay Thai as a form of cultural diplomacy.
