The Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin has announced that its 14th Amateur Charity Golf Classic will take place on Friday, 29 November 2024, at Pineapple Valley Golf Club, previously known as Banyan Golf Club. While the venue’s name has changed, the club aims to maintain the high standard of the event seen in past years. The tournament, a long-standing tradition, serves as the club’s primary fundraising source for various charitable initiatives.
Since its establishment in 2010, the Rotary Club of Royal Hua Hin has raised millions of Thai baht to support local and regional causes, improving living conditions for disadvantaged communities in Thailand, and contributing to education projects in other developing nations. Over the past year alone, the club has allocated 1,166,172 Thai baht toward 23 community service projects.
Among its most notable programs is the Children’s Water Safety & Drowning Prevention initiative. Running for three years, the program has taught more than 600 children from 10 Hua Hin schools how to swim, recognize water hazards, and perform life-saving techniques. In addition, the club funded a new ambulance for Hua Hin Hospital, costing 2.5 million Thai baht. Delivered in August 2024, the ambulance is fully equipped and expected to provide essential emergency services for years to come.
The annual Amateur Charity Golf Classic has played a key role in making these projects possible, with the support of players and sponsors crucial to its success. This year, golfers of all skill levels are invited to participate, either by registering as a team or individually. Single players will be grouped with others, ensuring everyone has a chance to contribute.
The registration package, priced at 6,000 Thai baht, includes a day of golf with a caddy and buggy, a golf shirt, cap, breakfast, snacks, a drink at the 9th hole, and an evening gala dinner. It was reported that numerous officials and members of the Rotary Club will be in attendance to support the event.
