The Creative Economy Agency (CEA) has launched the Content Project Market as part of its Content Lab 2024 initiative, seeking to connect creators, businesses, and investors to stimulate growth in Thailand’s film, series, animation, and scriptwriting industries. The event, designed as both a showcase and business platform, encourages collaboration between Thai creative professionals and international partners.
Dr. Chakrit Pichyangkul, Director of the CEA, emphasized that the Content Project Market functions as a marketplace and pitching platform for Thai creators. This year’s event features 59 projects, with 37 developed through the Content Lab 2024 initiative and 22 selected via an open call. Creators from film, series, and animation sectors are participating, with 64 companies—including international streaming platforms—expressing interest in potential partnerships.
The CEA aims to enhance Thailand’s creative industries by providing training and networking opportunities to help local creators reach global markets. The Content Lab 2024 program equips participants with skills to effectively pitch their projects to investors, facilitating international exposure. In 2022, Thailand’s content and creative media industries generated 108 billion baht in economic value, and the industry is expected to grow further in 2024, fueled by the expansion of streaming services.
Building on the success of the previous year, the CEA has broadened the scope of the Content Lab 2024 initiative. The program now includes four incubation tracks and a dedicated business opportunity program, designed to support filmmakers, animators, and scriptwriters at different stages of their careers. The initiative seeks to foster the development of commercially viable projects, positioning Thailand’s creative sector as a competitive player on the global stage.
The event underscores Thailand’s commitment to advancing its creative economy, with companies and creators from across industries converging to explore new opportunities and drive long-term growth.
