On November 11, 2024, officers from Hua Hin’s Social Welfare Division, in collaboration with the Hua Hin Police Station, Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), and local community committees, launched an integrated field visit initiative to address drug use in the Hua Hin Municipality. The operation, coined “Re-Xray,” targets drug users and individuals with psychiatric conditions through community-based screenings in areas such as the Naeb Kheha, Ban Mai Phatthana, and Fah Si Kram communities, using urine tests as a primary assessment tool.
This field effort aligns with Prachuap Khiri Khan Province’s mission to establish Hua Hin District as a pilot area for comprehensive drug problem management. The initiative seeks to screen 100% of the target demographic—residents aged 14 to 65 years—across every sub-district, village, and community.
Authorities aim for full coverage, with the goal of identifying individuals needing support and ensuring those with positive results enter treatment programs. The initiative strives to rehabilitate affected residents, facilitating their reintegration into society and reducing the broader community impact of drug addiction.
