Police Raid Samut Sakhon Venue for Illegal Operations, Underage Workers

Date:

Police in Samut Sakhon Province have raided an entertainment venue alleged to be operating beyond legal hours, with unlicensed foreign workers reportedly employed as staff. The joint operation, led by Deputy Commander Pol. Col. Suraphan Mankongdee of the Crime Suppression Division and supported by officials from the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Tourist Police, and local authorities, resulted in multiple arrests, including the venue’s owner.

Authorities initiated surveillance after complaints from residents regarding noise disturbances and suspicions of illegal activity at the establishment, located on Phutthasakorn Road in Krathum Baen District. Undercover officers observed activity consistent with these reports, including alcohol sales, live music, and staff dressed in school uniforms engaging with patrons for tips. After confirming these findings, the team moved in to make arrests.

The venue owner, Ms. Thitirat, also known as “Jae Sao,” was detained when she was unable to produce a valid operating license. Alongside her, over 30 foreign workers from Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam, some as young as 14, were taken into custody. The workers, dressed in student attire, allegedly interacted with customers in exchange for tips, and several reported having inadequate employment documentation, with daily wages ranging from 150 to 400 baht.

All suspects were transferred to Krathum Baen Police Station, where authorities are pursuing further legal action.
