Hua Hin Hosts The Legend Jump Rope Challenge to Promote Fitness and Youth Engagement

Date:

On November 16-17, 2024, the Bluport Hua Hin Shopping Mall and The Legend Arena Sports Center in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, in collaboration with the Thai Jump Rope Association, held The Legend Jump Rope Challenge by Bluport. This two-day event encouraged children, youth, and the general public to engage in jump rope activities while promoting health and deterring drug use.

The initiative aimed to introduce jump rope sports to local schools, discover potential national athletes, and establish Hua Hin as a potential hub for future championships, including the Thailand and World Jump Rope Championships. Participants had the opportunity to receive training and witness demonstrations by accomplished athletes.

Highlighting the event were performances by Thai national jump rope athlete Nanthawat Thong-intra, holder of Thailand’s highest speed record, and Peeraya Phlappla, a youth world champion in the Wheel Pair Freestyle event. Both served as trainers, inspiring participants with their exceptional skills.

The event also served as part of Hua Hin’s broader push to position itself as a sports city in Thailand. Over the past three years, The Legend Arena has hosted a variety of competitions, including taekwondo, jiu-jitsu, street football, and basketball. A series of Muay Thai tournaments is planned through early 2025, further emphasizing the city’s focus on promoting sports as a driver of health, self-confidence, and economic growth.

Prominent figures, including Bluport Hua Hin’s Managing Director Chokchai Wongjakraphat and The Legend Arena’s Director Yaowapha Burapolchai, a 2004 Olympic bronze medalist in taekwondo, praised the collaboration and the event’s impact on local communities. Bluport Hua Hin expressed its hope of cultivating future national athletes from the region.

Participants were also treated to complimentary jump ropes and water park tickets, supported by the Thai Jump Rope Sports Association, Bluport Hua Hin, and Vana Nava Water Park. Those interested in future activities are encouraged to contact The Legend Arena Sports Center for details.
