A tourist boat capsized near Khao Sam Kloe in Ratchaprapa Dam, Surat Thani Province, on November 23, 2024, leaving one foreign tourist missing and another hospitalized. The incident occurred during heavy rain and strong winds, with 12 passengers on board. Eleven tourists were rescued, while one remains unaccounted for.
Surat Thani Tourist Police, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Phattharin Suthiphatham, are coordinating the search and providing assistance. Rescue teams, including local police, national park officials, and various agencies, have established a command center at the dam’s pier to manage search efforts and tourist support.

The missing tourist’s search was suspended at nightfall but will resume on November 24. The rescued individuals received temporary accommodations, with one person requiring hospital care. Authorities confirmed the boat and operator were licensed, and the tour company has insurance coverage. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
