HUA HIN — The 28th Thai Encyclopedia Quiz Competition for Youth at the Prachuap Khiri Khan provincial level commenced on November 23, 2024. Organized by Lions Clubs International, Region 310 Thailand, in partnership with the Thai Encyclopedia for Youth Project Foundation and the Office of the Basic Education Commission, the event aims to enhance learning opportunities for students and the broader public in line with the royal vision of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great.
The opening ceremony, held at Hua Hin School, was attended by prominent officials and community leaders, including Hua Hin Sheriff Phuong Walaisin, who presided over the event. Deputy Permanent Secretary of Hua Hin Municipality, Sergeant Ek Likit Noonin, represented the Hua Hin Mayor. Other attendees included Mr. Thanakrit Brahmaninil, the tournament chairman, Dr. Manasphan Chatupan, President of the Lions Club of Prachuap Khiri Khan, and Major Kittithat Sanphuwa, Director of Hua Hin School.
Youth Showcase Knowledge
The competition featured two levels: junior high school and high school. Fourteen schools competed in the junior high category, while 11 participated at the high school level. Among the highlights was the performance of Wat Nong Kae Municipal School (Luang Pu Kam Upatum), which secured the third runner-up position.
Winners from this provincial round will advance to the regional competition, scheduled for December 14, 2024.
