Teacher Arrested in Ratchaburi for Alleged Student Molestation

Date:

A teacher in Ratchaburi province has been apprehended for allegedly molesting nine students at a school in Suan Phueng district. The arrest followed a formal complaint made by a group of concerned parents who reported inappropriate behavior exhibited by the teacher. The incidents reportedly spanned several years, prompting significant alarm within the community.

One of the victims, just nine years old, exhibited noticeable behavioral changes and expressed reluctance about attending school, alarming his parents. Another student revealed that he had been subjected to molestation over a period of four years, starting when he was in Grade 4. The alleged abuses took place in various locations at the school, including the teacher’s room, toilets, and even on a nearby mushroom plantation.

After initially raising their concerns with the school’s director, parents were assured that an investigation would take place. When no action was taken, they felt compelled to escalate the matter by contacting law enforcement.

The teacher was taken into custody while leaving a provincial education office in the Muang district of Ratchaburi. Following his arrest, police reported that he confessed to having molested multiple students, although he claimed uncertainty about whether the nine specific individuals were among his victims.

The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, reigniting discussions about student safety and the protection of minors in educational environments.

Local officials and community leaders are urged to closely monitor the investigation’s progress and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to safeguard students.
