On November 25, 2024, Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital held its 14th Media Relations Event at the Tanawsri Meeting Room on the 5th floor of the Outpatient Building in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan District. The event aimed to strengthen relationships between the hospital and local media outlets while enhancing public awareness of health services and knowledge.
The event was presided over by Dr. Apiwat Banditchat, Director of Prachuap Khiri Khan Hospital, alongside senior hospital officials, including Dr. Chumphon Fucharoen, Deputy Director of Primary Care Mission; Dr. Watcharapong Luengpairat, Deputy Director of Medical Affairs; Mr. Udomsak Saengwanit, Deputy Director of Administration; and Mrs. Nantaporn Plibat, Deputy Director of Nursing Mission. Over 30 representatives from local newspapers, radio, television, and online media platforms attended, joined by medical staff, doctors, and nurses.
Participants were offered annual health check-ups, including blood tests, urine analyses, lung capacity evaluations, lipid profiling, diabetes screening, and blood pressure monitoring. The event also served as a platform for exchanging ideas and fostering collaboration between the hospital and media professionals to improve the dissemination of public health information.
In recognition of their efforts, the hospital director presented certificates of honor to media representatives who have consistently supported the promotion of health services and information.
Dr. Apiwat emphasized the critical role of the media in bridging the gap between the hospital and the public. “The hospital and the media are like water and boats, reliant on one another,” he stated. “By working together, we can ensure that accurate health information reaches the community, creating a better understanding and improving services. We are open to feedback from both the media and the public to make the hospital a reliable source of care for all.”
The event highlighted the importance of collaboration between healthcare institutions and the media in promoting health literacy and community well-being.
