PATTAYA — Thai Tourist Police have apprehended five Chinese nationals and a stateless individual for operating as unlicensed real estate brokers in Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province.

Acting on a search warrant, Police Lieutenant General Saksira Phuek-am, Commander of the Tourist Police Bureau, led officers to inspect a real estate office opposite The Chill shopping mall on Boon Samphan Road, Nong Prue subdistrict, on December 16. The suspects were reportedly selling and renting properties to Chinese clients through online platforms.

Authorities uncovered that some of the properties linked to the suspects had previously been used in call center scam operations, raising additional concerns. During questioning, the individuals admitted to earning commissions from property sales and rental agreements.

The six suspects face charges under the Foreign Workers Management Emergency Decree B.E. 2560 for working without permits, and under the Immigration Act B.E. 2522 for illegal entry into Thailand. They are currently detained at Nong Prue Police Station as legal proceedings continue.

This arrest is part of a broader crackdown by the Tourist Police Bureau targeting illegal activities by foreigners in high-density business districts and residential areas, as authorities strive to uphold immigration and labor laws.
