Leopard Spotted in Thailand’s Kaeng Krachan National Park

A leopard was sighted on December 18 in Kaeng Krachan National Park, Phetchaburi province, underscoring the rich biodiversity of Thailand’s largest national park. Tourist Krittipong Ngamjing captured the rare encounter at 6:50 AM near the 3-kilometer mark of the park’s main road.

The photographs, shared with park officials, showcased the natural habitat that supports a variety of rare wildlife species, highlighting the importance of preserving the region’s ecological balance.

Mongkol Chaipakdee, Chief of Kaeng Krachan National Park, advised visitors to remain vigilant and keep a safe distance from wildlife to ensure the safety of both humans and animals. The park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its diverse ecosystems and serves as a critical refuge for endangered species.

Officials emphasized that such sightings reinforce the park’s role as a sanctuary for rare animals, attracting eco-tourists and wildlife enthusiasts.
