SRT Royal Blossom Train to Launch February 2025

Date:

Thailand’s State Railway (SRT) is preparing to launch its second SRT Royal Blossom train set in February 2025, featuring enhanced designs and amenities to boost tourism and local economies.

The five-car train, sourced from Japan’s Hokkaido Railway Company, marks the final refurbished set of air-conditioned Hamanasu passenger cars. These trains, tailored for leisure travel, have undergone updates to address feedback from earlier operations. Changes include relocating power outlets for easier access, enhancing VIP seating comfort, and optimizing space in the leisure car to improve passenger experiences.

The service will initially be available for one-day charter trips from Monday to Thursday. Rates start at THB 195,000 for routes up to 500 kilometers, increasing to THB 285,000 for longer distances. Weekend services will cater to tourism-focused train journeys.

With interiors themed around nature and blossoms, the train offers a mix of private group cabins, general seating with USB ports, and a leisure car equipped with food services, large windows, and recreational spaces. These upgrades aim to provide passengers a comfortable and scenic experience.

Officials from Thailand’s Department of Rail Transport and the SRT are finalizing operational plans, with the initiative expected to generate economic benefits and promote regional tourism.
