Royal Thai Navy Hosts Warship Tours for Children’s Day

Date:

The Royal Thai Navy, led by Admiral Jirapol Wongwit, Commander-in-Chief, will host National Children’s Day 2025 events on Saturday, January 11, 2025. These activities aim to inspire and educate children through hands-on experiences with naval missions, military equipment, and cultural displays.

One of the main attractions this year is the opening of four warships for public tours at Sattahip Naval Base. Visitors can explore HTMS Chang, the Royal Thai Navy’s largest ship, along with HTMS Bhumibol Adulyadej, HTMS Chakri Naruebet, and HTMS Similan. These tours offer a rare opportunity to view naval capabilities up close and learn about the Navy’s operations.

In Bangkok and nearby provinces, events will take place at the Naval Academy and other key naval facilities in Samut Prakan. Activities include demonstrations by the Naval Special Warfare Command, first aid training, and exhibitions of amphibious vehicles, armored reconnaissance vehicles, and advanced weapon systems. Visitors can also enjoy games, quizzes with prizes, and food stalls.

At the Naval Academy, children and families can tour warships, view aircraft, and learn about sea turtle conservation and plant genetics preservation. Additional attractions include musical performances, honor guard demonstrations, and interactive educational exhibits.

Regional celebrations extend to Phuket, Songkhla, Trat, and other provinces, ensuring children across Thailand can experience the excitement of National Children’s Day. Events range from ship tours to cultural performances and displays of naval equipment.

Rear Admiral Dr. Phawipa Thammano, Deputy Spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy, highlighted the significance of these activities in fostering national pride and introducing children to the Navy’s vital role in Thailand’s security and development.
