Buddhist Pilgrimage Stops at Hua Hin Temple

Date:

On January 8, 2025, Phra Phisan Sitthikhun (Phra Chao Khun Phairoj Pappasaro), the abbot of Huay Mongkol Temple, welcomed a significant delegation to his temple in Hua Hin, including Plakrit Puangwalisin, the district chief of Hua Hin; Usa Puangwalisin, the head of the Hua Hin Red Cross; Prasuth Hombanthong, the district chief of Prachuap Khiri Khan; Phisalan Chorpaka, the district chief of Kui Buri; and Janwit Phalitsak, the public health officer of Hua Hin. They were joined by medical staff from the local hospital, along with a large number of local Buddhists.

The purpose of the gathering was to receive Phra Kru Phawana Silawisut (Phra Ajarn Jan Anangkhano), the deputy abbot of the Si La Lat district and the abbot of Uthayan Tham Dong Yang Temple in Sisaket. He led over 500 monks and novices participating in a pilgrimage as part of a religious outreach project aimed at spreading Buddhist teachings in honor of the monarchy. The group stayed at Huay Mongkol Temple for evening prayers and participated in a morning alms-giving ceremony before continuing their journey to Phetchaburi Province.

The event, which saw a large turnout of both local officials and community members, underscores the importance of maintaining religious traditions while honoring the monarchy through these ceremonial acts.
