Thailand Launches Romance Month for Couples and LGBTQ+ Travelers

Date:

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched “Amazing Thailand Romance Month,” a campaign aimed at attracting couples and LGBTQ+ travelers to the country throughout February. Part of the broader Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025 initiative, the campaign focuses on luxury travel, exclusive experiences, and promotional offers in collaboration with hospitality and airline partners. Events include romantic airport welcomes, business networking opportunities, and curated travel packages designed to enhance Thailand’s appeal as a romantic destination.

As part of TAT’s larger 2 BY 4 Global Campaign, additional themed tourism promotions are scheduled for the year. In April, “Amazing Songkran” will spotlight lesser-known destinations during the traditional Thai New Year celebrations, while “Amazing Summer” in August will focus on multigenerational family travel. The February campaign specifically targets long-haul tourists, with an emphasis on drawing over 10 million visitors from Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa in 2025. Key trade events in Bangkok will facilitate networking between Thai tourism businesses and international travel agencies to strengthen global partnerships.

In a separate initiative, the Immigration Bureau is set to implement a fully digital immigration system, replacing the current paper-based TM 6 form. The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), launching on May 1, 2025, aims to streamline entry procedures by integrating with airline, customs, and health screening databases. This transition is expected to reduce processing times and improve the overall arrival experience for international travelers.

Authorities have also launched a multilingual public awareness campaign to facilitate the transition to the digital system. Promotional materials in English, Chinese, Korean, Russian, and Japanese will provide step-by-step instructions for travelers, with video guides set to be released in the coming months.

The launch of these initiatives was attended by key tourism and government officials, along with representatives from the hospitality and airline industries.
