Thailand’s leading television network, CH7HD, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, a move aimed at expanding experiential entertainment in the country. The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), seeks to develop premium content and host large-scale entertainment events, combining television production with immersive theme park experiences.
The agreement, signed at CH7HD’s headquarters, is expected to create new entertainment formats, including a Muay Thai competition series hosted at the park, concerts, live performances, and exclusive fan meet-and-greet events featuring CH7HD personalities. The partnership also plans to integrate content distribution across television, streaming, and live platforms.
For Columbia Pictures Aquaverse, which is managed by Amazon Falls Co., Ltd., the collaboration is a strategic step toward strengthening its presence in Southeast Asia’s entertainment sector. Located in Bang Saray, 20 minutes south of Pattaya, the park has gained international recognition, earning accolades such as CNN’s ranking as one of the world’s best new theme parks in 2023 and ASEAN’s Best Themed Water Park at MAFTA 2023.
The initiative also aligns with Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) project, reinforcing the region’s role as a tourism and entertainment hub. Industry analysts suggest the collaboration could generate new revenue streams and employment opportunities, further solidifying Thailand’s position in the global entertainment landscape.
The signing event was attended by key figures from Sony Pictures Entertainment (Thailand), Tero Entertainment Public Company Limited, and the Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand (EECO). Thai celebrities, including Mik Thongraya and Pinkploy-Paphawadee Chansamon, were also present.
The partnership marks another step in CH7HD’s digital transformation strategy, following the success of its Bugaboo.TV platform, which ranks among Thailand’s top 20 most downloaded apps. The collaboration is expected to enhance content creation and distribution, expanding Thailand’s entertainment offerings on a global scale.
