Police in Pattaya have arrested a British national accused of breaking into a cannabis shop, stealing products worth over 10,000 baht, and consuming them until he passed out. The arrest follows an incident on February 2, where the suspect allegedly smashed a glass door to gain entry.

Authorities detained Andrew John Mathews, 23, on February 6, 2025, at a hotel in Pattaya under an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court. According to police, he admitted to the crime, stating that he stole only cannabis products, smoked them until he fell asleep, and continued to move between locations while using the stolen goods.
