Civil servants from various departments in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province convened at the official residence of the provincial governor in Mueang Prachuap Khiri Khan district. The gathering was organized to observe a traditional Songkran custom—pouring water to seek blessings from senior officials—as a symbolic gesture of respect and goodwill at the start of the Thai New Year.

This annual practice, known locally as Rod Nam Dam Hua, reflects the enduring significance of Thai cultural heritage and is regarded as a gesture of reverence and good fortune. The ceremony also fosters unity among government workers and emphasizes the importance of cultural preservation during Thailand’s most significant traditional holiday.
The event took place in a warm, festive atmosphere that marked the beginning of Songkran, which is celebrated as the traditional New Year in Thailand. The act of offering blessings through water symbolizes cleansing, renewal, and a wish for prosperity in the year ahead.

In attendance were Deputy Governors Kittipong Sukphakoon, Sinat O-Aium, Prateep Boriboonrat, and Preeda Sukjai, along with heads of provincial departments, civil servants, and members of the Prachuap Khiri Khan Red Cross Chapter. The group presented their respects to Governor Sitthichai Sawatsan and Dr. Busakorn Sawatsan, President of the Red Cross Chapter, as part of the ceremony.
