A vehicle slammed into a supermarket in Suphan Buri province on the evening of May 5, after the driver reportedly lost control when the car’s accelerator malfunctioned. The incident caused injuries to two people and disrupted operations at the store.
The crash occurred while the 44-year-old woman was on her way to buy coffee at the store. According to initial reports, her car’s accelerator became stuck, propelling the sedan through the supermarket’s glass entrance and into several display shelves. The impact scattered products across the floor and caused a moment of panic among customers and staff.
One female customer, aged 60, sustained injuries after a shelving unit fell onto her during the crash. Store personnel also reported minor injuries. All individuals were treated on site and no one required hospitalization.
Store employee Kanokwan Trinai told local media that the noise and tremor initially made her think an earthquake had struck. Upon realizing a vehicle had entered the store, she and colleagues moved quickly to assist those nearby.
The driver and those injured were not named by authorities, and further investigation into the vehicle malfunction is ongoing. Emergency responders and store management later worked to clear the debris and assess structural damage.
